Dr. Melissa Rosso is the newly hired Visiting Assistant Professor for Biology. In 2015, she received her PhD in Biology from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York with a specialization in molecular cancer biology. She also pursued and received an Advanced Certificate in Clinical and Translational Investigation from Cornell University in her last year as a PhD Candidate. Melissa went on to pursue work as a postdoctoral associate in clinical genomic testing at the Mount Sinai Genetics and Genomics Department and was promoted to Genetics Laboratory Supervisor when the department privatized and became the company Sema4. She transitioned into a Molecular Science Liaison position at a clinical cancer genomics testing company called Caris for several years. Additionally, Melissa continually worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in various colleges part of the City University of New York teaching different biology related courses, gaining many years of teaching experience.
