Amanda Franks, a B.S. Biology major, interned at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in Manhattan during the Fall 2022 semester. HSS is the nation’s #1 hospital in orthopedics. As an intern specializing in Patient Navigation and Transport, Amanda engaged in meaningful interactions with hospital patients and visitors, with the goal of building her knowledge of hospital operations and her communication skills, particularly in patient-facing interactions.
