  • Maggi Salko

“My time at Marymount really helped me figure out want I wanted to do with my career. Through the leadership concentration I was able to try out a lot of different aspects of business, and this helped me decide that marketing was where my heart lies. I’m also so happy to have gone to a school that supports students searching for outside opportunities. Thanks to the professors that have helped me along the way I’ve been able to take advantage of NYC internships and even start my grad program a year early.”

About

Margaret (Maggie), a double major with Business (concentration: Leadership) and English and World Literature, combines her love for Broadway and business both inside and outside the classroom. Combining Business and English and World Literature makes for a challenging program, and in keeping with Marymount Manhattan College’s foundation in the liberal arts, Maggie managed to blend Business and English and World Literature seamlessly, as she enrolled in the Master’s in Publishing Program at Pace University, to complete both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in five years.

Maggie completed multiple internships even as she maintained an excellent academic record at MMC. One of the internships had Maggie managing a team of interns at Custom Broadway. Yet another internship took Maggie to TodayTix, a Broadway ticketing service. Of special note was Maggie’s internship as a Marketing and Communications Intern for StoryCorps, where Maggie helped gather analytics to plan campaigns in addition to writing draft copies for social campaigns. By the end of the internship Maggie was able to run her own campaign from start to finish and help with a social campaign that was featured on the Google Homepage for Thanksgiving.

Maggie graduated with Gold Keys in both Business and English and World Literature and accepted a job as Marketing Coordinator at Little Bee Books, NY, NY.
