Raeland La ’21

Class of 2021 B.A. Business with a concentration in Media & Arts Management

MMC helped me become who I am today, and for that I am truly grateful. I am thankful to have had such helpful and caring advisors and professors who helped facilitate my education. I am also thankful to all of my peers, some of whom have become my lifelong friends. Thanks to MMC, I feel prepared and excited to find a career for myself.

About

Raeland was determined to go to school in NYC because of the city’s lifestyle and the many job opportunities in the music industry. “The Media and Arts Management business concentration was perfect for me, as it allowed me to study the behind the scenes work needed to sustain companies and organizations in the arts field.” In addition to learning the ins and outs of business, Raeland also took several arts education and history, psychology and language courses.

Outside of school, Raeland decided to go into the workforce to experience working in NYC. He worked at the Abercrombie & Fitch on 5th Ave as a brand representative his freshman year and went on to work at Milk Bar in Midtown and Williamsburg as a shift leader for the next 3 years. Besides work and school, Raeland also took a great interest in the local electronic music scene. He networked himself into the Brooklyn electronic music scene, allowing him to make several important connections and giving him several opportunities to DJ live shows. Raeland plans on staying in New York after graduating and pursuing a career in the music industry, whether that be in a management role or as a live performer
