Class of 2021, Minor in Theatre

Upon entering MMC, I was torn between choosing a theatre-based major and a non-performing arts major because of my interests in different academic fields. Discovering that MMC had a Theatre Arts minor allowed me to study the aspects of theatre that I am passionate about while also allowing myself to devote time to my other academic interests.

About

The flexibility of the Theatre Arts minor allowed me to take classes that reflect the specific goals I have in pursuing a career in theatre while also giving me a well-rounded education about theatre as a whole.

Having a Theatre Arts minor that could be adjusted to reflect my needs allowed me to focus on my strengths as a theatre creator without being constrained by strict requirements.

The option of a Theatre Arts minor was perfect for a student like me who wanted to study theatre but also have a non-performance-based major.

The adaptable nature of the Theatre Arts minor allowed me to curate my own personalized theatre education that also complimented my other fields of study.

The Theatre Arts minor has a strong requirement foundation that gives you a well-rounded representation of the field of theatre, while also giving each individual student a lot of freedom in taking other theatre-based courses at MMC that count towards their degree. The wide-ranging theatre classes offered each semester were great for a student like me who is just as interested in the history of theatre as I am in specialized theatre topics that otherwise would not have been available for me to take if I wasn’t already in the Theatre Arts minor.
