Nicole Philippidis ’95

Nicole Philippidis holds a BFA degree in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College, Class of 1995, where she was a recipient of a competitive four-year Dance Scholarship. Nicole went on to receive an MS in Education from City College, where she was awarded a Teaching Fellowship in the Arts. She is currently part of the dance faculty at the Mark Morris Dance Center.

Nicole is the Artistic Director and Choreographer of 277 Dance Project, a New York City based contemporary dance company, which she founded in 2009. Nicole also works as a filmmaker and most recently founded 277 Films in 2020.

As a choreographer, she has produced 12 evening-length and short works that have been presented at such leading NYC venues as Dance NOW Festival at Joe’s Pub/The Public, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Abrons Arts Center, Triskelion Arts, Dixon Place, Bryant Park Dance Festival, and others. As a dance filmmaker and editor she has created various short dance films, mixed media for the stage, and music videos that have been presented at multiple film festivals in the US and Europe.
