In addition, Reid’s short story, George Washington’s Teeth, has been awarded the second annual Ashley Leigh Bourne Prize for Fiction. The short story appeared in the Fall 2019 issue of the Ploughshares literature journal and examines American history from a racial perspective. The Ashley Leigh Bourne Prize for Fiction is selected by Ploughshares’ editors and recognizes an outstanding short story featured in a previous issue. Along with honors and recognition, Reid was awarded a $2,500 prize.
