Pre-College Summer Intensive Program in Accounting

Program Description

The Pre-College Program in Accounting allows participants to earn three (3) college credits by participating in this three-weeks summer intensive program. The intensive will cover fundamentals of accounting theory and practice, including the recording of financial transactions, the completion of the ac­counting cycle, and the preparation of financial statements. Topics include: receivables, inventories, pay­ables, payrolls, property and equipment. In addition, participants will receive training in the use of Microsoft Excel for two afternoons each week.

Faculty

 Professor Michelle Wang

Professor Wang received her BBA in Marketing, MS in Accounting, and EdD in Organizational Leadership. After seven years of experience in financial and operational audits and two years in business consulting in both the United States and Taiwan she followed her passion for college teaching in the areas of Accounting and Business Management.

Monday 7/10/17 to Thursday  7/27/17

 

Program Meeting Days and Times

Monday and Wednesday:    9:00am-3:00pm, 1/2 hour lunch.

Tuesday and Thursday:         9:00am-1:00pm.

 

Housing

Housing is not available to participants in this Pre-College Summer Intensive.

 
College Credit

Students successfully completing this intensive will earn three (3) college credits for:
ACCT 215: Principles of Accounting I.

 

Program Costs

Refund Policy

All requests for a refund must be made in writing to Jacqueline Noel (jnoel@mmm.edu)

On or before 7/7/17:                               100% Refund

Between 7/7 and 7/9/17:                         75% Refund

Between 7/10 and 7/12/17:                     25% Refund

After 7/12/17:                                               0% Refund

 

Application Requirements
  1. Marymount Pre-College Program Application Form.
  2. Marymount Pre-College Recommendation Form from a high school teacher.

 

Priority Application Date

The Marymount Manhattan College Pre-College Program Application Form the Marymount Pre-College Recommendation Form from a high school teacher are due by May 1, 2017. Applications received after that date will be processed as they are received. Applicants who apply by the May 1st priority application date will be notified of acceptance into the program by May 15, 2017. Enrollment and registration in any Pre-College Summer Intensive Program does not imply acceptance into any degree program at Marymount Manhattan College.
