Pre-College Summer Intensive Program: Emerging Writers Summer Institute
The Emerging Writers Summer Institute provides a unique opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to develop their skills in creative writing and critical analysis of literature. Through a three-week intensive program, students will spend a total of 48 hours in the classroom while earning three (3) college credits in Introduction to Creative Writing I (CRW 201). They will also have multiple opportunities to supplement this in-class work, with out of class activities throughout New York City. By the end of the program, students will gain college preparatory experience in creative writing and literary analysis, produced creative work and experienced “literary New York” both inside and outside of the classroom.
Danielle Elizabeth Chin received her MFA in Creative Writing from The New School and BA from Marymount Manhattan College. She currently teaches creative writing courses at MMC.
