Stand Up! Speak Out!: A Film + 24 Hour Play Festival

It’s almost time for Marymount Manhattan College’s second annual film + 24 hour play festival. This year the Communication & Media Arts, Theater, and Fine Arts Divisions are collaborating to create pieces that speak to race, gender, and/or religion.

Last week, teams of MMC filmmakers were given seven days to create films about race, gender and/or religion. This coming weekend, MMC performers, writers, choreographers, and dancers will have 24 hours to make dance and play pieces in response to the aforementioned films.

Join us for screenings and live performances on Saturday, February 27 in the Great Hall at 8:00PM. This will be followed by a town hall style discussion on ways that MMC can stand up and speak out.

Student photographers from the Fine Arts department are showcasing participants through a series of portraits and behind the scenes photography that will exhibit in March.
