MMC Student and Professor Present at American Chemical Society Meeting

Last week, recently graduated student Marisa Dunigan and Associate Professor of Chemistry Alessandra Leri presented their research at the Northeast Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (NERMACS) at Ithaca College in upstate New York.

Marisa Dunigan, who graduated from MMC last month with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, presented her research on edible seaweeds in the Food Chemistry poster session. Click to view Marisa’s NERMACS abstract. She also attended several professional development workshops geared towards undergraduates in the chemical sciences.

Marisa conducts research at MMC under the supervision of Prof. Leri, who gave a platform talk at the meeting on “The Unexpected Reactivity of Marine Chlorine.”
